Personalized academic support that grows with your child

Our Story

Ivy Tutor Connection began with one tutor, Constance, and our founding families. Our families needed a tutor relationship that could grow and change as each child entered a new grade, faced new standardized or admissions testing, and met new demands with the Common Core curriculum. When the demand for academic support surpassed what Constance could manage herself, Ivy Tutor Connection was founded.

As a small, by-referral-only network of tutors and families, Ivy Tutor Connection maintains the same high quality of personalized services and track record for results that was Constance's trademark. Constance hand-picks tutors from her various networks of fully licensed secondary-level educators and Ivy League graduates from throughout the New York City metropolitan area to meet the individual needs of the families within the Ivy Tutor Connection network.

The corps of tutors changes and grows to support each child as she grows from elementary to middle to high school and between public and private settings. We prepare her for the Specialized High School Admissions Test, Independent Schools Entrance Exam, and Regents Examinations, and when she reaches the upper grades, we support her through college essay writing, SAT preparation, and interview coaching.

She is a tenured educator with the New York City Department of Education and has taught mathematics, science, reading and writing from grades 5 through 10. She is a Master Teacher Fellow with Math for America, as well as a founding member of the Teacher Advisory Committee with New Visions for Public Schools Algebra Through Inquiry Project. She is uniquely trained in implementation of the Common Core State Standards through her role as a Core Advocate with Student Achievement Partners. She has travelled to conferences around the country to collaborate with international groups of educators on best practices for helping all students reach and exceed the standards of learning.

Constance has worked as a tutor with families in both public and private schools since 2011. She brings her expertise to her test preparation work, which has afforded her tutoring students admission to various private schools across the city as well as to Specialized High Schools. Under Constance's direction, 100% of her middle school tutees have grown in their achievement level on New York State Test, from a Level 3 to a Level 4 on state exams in both mathematics and English, and in some cases from Level 2 to Level 4.

Constance lives with her husband and son in Brooklyn, NY.
